Behind One Product: The Teams That Make It Happen

When a customer looks at a MiFi, it may look like a simple finished product.

Inside JIMICQ, however, there is usually much more behind it.

A product can pass through several teams before it reaches the customer — and each team sees it from a different perspective.

It Usually Starts With a Customer Requirement

For a standard product, the process may be quite straightforward.

But when a customer comes to us with a specific requirement, the first step is usually with our sales team.

Sales needs to understand what the customer actually wants, then work with our R&D team to see what is technically possible.

Sometimes the answer is straightforward. Sometimes it raises more questions.

What hardware needs to be changed?
Can the requested function be supported?
Are the required components available?

The discussion then moves between sales, R&D and procurement before a solution is confirmed.

The First Idea Is Not Always the Final Product

This is especially true when a project involves changes to the product's appearance or structure.

A first design may look right on paper, but once a sample is made and the product is actually assembled and tested, some details may need to be adjusted.

The first version and the final version can therefore look quite different.

For projects that mainly involve software, firmware, or internal components, the changes are often much smaller, and the original solution may remain largely unchanged.

Every project is different.

There is no reason to change something simply for the sake of changing it.

Then Production Gets Involved

A design may work well from an engineering perspective, but production sees the product differently.

Can it be assembled efficiently?

Is the structure practical for mass production?

Are there details that need to be adjusted before large-scale production?

These are questions that become much easier to answer when engineering and production work closely together.

Our quality team is also involved throughout the process rather than only checking the finished products at the end.

That gives different teams the opportunity to identify and solve problems earlier.

The Teams Are Not All in One Place

Our main R&D, sales, and manufacturing teams are based in Huizhou, where product development and production can work closely together.

We also have a dedicated R&D headquarters in Chongqing. As part of JIMI Group, teams are also located across Shenzhen, Chongqing, Guizhou, and Huizhou.

Different teams may work in different locations, but they are connected through the same product and the same project.

For us, this is part of what makes a manufacturing company work.

By the time a product is ready to leave our factory, the process behind it has already involved quite a few people.

Sales may have been discussing the requirements with the customer, while R&D worked on the technical side. Procurement checked the materials, production turned the design into a real product, and our quality team followed the process along the way.

For the customer, the result may simply be a MiFi, a router, or a fixed wireless phone.

But behind that finished product is a team of people, each contributing to a different part of the process.

That is the part of JIMICQ that is not always visible from the outside — but it is part of every product we make.
